Acupuncture is a technique used in traditional Chinese medicine where very thin needles are inserted through the skin at strategic points on the body. The needles are thought to balance the flow of energy (qi) through pathways (meridians) in the body to improve overall wellness.

The Western version of traditional Chinese medicine views acupuncture points as places to stimulate muscles, nerves, and connective tissue, and is commonly used for pain management in conditions such as: headaches and migraines, low back pain, neck pain, osteoarthritis, respiratory disorders, and cramps.
